Includes notes ‘This book to [be] brought to me every morning’ (29 May 1916) and ‘Messrs Bowler, Gibbin, & Walsh, absent without permission from 1.15. to 3 o’clock’ (31 May 1916), and also note by W G Fogarty, Acting County Secretary, stating 'In future temporary clerks in Secretary's and County Surveyors office are not to be paid under any circumstances for any days on which they absent themselves from the office' (8 August 1916).
Includes signature of James Carter, who was arrested during Easter Week 1916. He signature appears again on 2 January 1917, following his release just before Christmas 1916.
The volume is full by 30 January 1917, but entries up to early March are entered under earlier dates in a backward direction.
